Threats Fig4

The coralligenous is one of the most popular sites for recreational diving in the Mediterranean due to high aesthetic value and great variety of life. Some studies have detected a direct impact of divers on the biggest and most fragile invertebrates. Diving might lead the coralligenous community to be dominated by erosion-resistant species, such as encrusting and massive organisms, instead of erect, articulate and foliose species. Locality: National Park Port-Cros. Depth: 25 m.
